The Entryway

The entryway of my home has always been a challenge for me.  For one, my house is a raised ranch so when you walk through the front door you walk right in to stairs. Second of all, I have a niche shelf that is very high and tall so it's really hard to find things that are the right scale.

So after four years of living here, I think I have finally found the look I want.  I did a gallery wall going all the way down the stairs. I just finished it yesterday and I think it turned out great. I used all black frames but in different sizes, materials, and designs.

In the niche, I put a vintage dress form dressed in a fabulous red and white toile dress, (of course, she's also wearing a vintage apron) a tall candle holder, and a cute sign. (I am not 100% convinced of the candle holder but I'm going to live with it for awhile.)

I would love to hear your thoughts or ideas...

Until tomorrow,
Kristy

  4. I have a neighbor who takes pictures of their kids every year. They then hang up the pictures on their wall. It's really cool to see how they mature year to year.

  5. Hi, I call myself a decoratoraholic as well. I actually just started a blog about a week ago. I am still trying to get it ironed out. A photo collage is always a great design idea. And.what better way to display photos of your family. Nice entry. By the way I am Trish from the decoratoraholic.
