Can a fireplace really make you crazy?

I have gained my sanity back!  My fireplace really did make me crazy for the last 4 years since I moved in to my home. I didnt know what to do with it. It's brick; and not the nice red brick that has character, it's a beige colored brick.. UGLY!!  It has a cut out in the brick for a picture that is just weird and hard to accessorize. I thought about painting it but I really don't care for the look of painted brick.

Well I finally came up with an idea! I had these bookcases that are a good height and actually fit perfectly on each side of the actual fire place and cover up a good portion of the brick.. Then I added my milk glass collection which is quite large that I have wanted to display for sometime.  A few pictures, a mirror, and some accessories and voila!

I would love to hear about any of your projects involving brick.  Please comment! I love to hear your wonderful ideas and I am always looking to make my projects better.

    Yes i am totally agreed with this article and i just want say that this article is very nice and very informative article.I will make sure to be reading your blog more. You made a good point but I can't help but wonder, what about the other side? !!!!!!Thanks top rated gas fireplaces
