Last Summer my father in law moved here to Oregon from Vermont. My hubby and I and our 6 kids went to Vermont to help him pack and drive out. We got rid of most everything he had because it was all pretty much run down and falling apart. However, there was one piece that made me squeal with delight.
Isn't it gorgeous! I know, it's not a great picture but this thing weighs like a thousand pounds so I couldn't get it outside to get a full frontal but I will. It is in pretty rough shape but the lines are great. This pic is after I had already sanded it.
These are the drawers.. I am going to change the hardware once I am done. I would really love to paint this piece with Annie Sloan's chalk paint but it is so hard to find. Anyone have a source?
Love,
Kristy
Let me know if you do paint with this, very curious to hear how it went! Been thinking of painting with Chalk paint too, everyone is trying to tell me not too???? The only source I know of to purchase is the internet. Also might try Home Depot and see if they have anything comparable, you never know. Happy painting :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that piece is amazing! I can't wait to see what you do with it!!
ReplyDeletethat is so cool, i am also anxious : )
ReplyDeleteThis is a great piece! Can't wait to see it when it's finished.
ReplyDeleteI've been using the chalk paint for about a month and I love it. But be warned it's an investment. The fact you don't have to do any prep work helps to make it a little better. Check out Miss Mustard Seeds blog and Perfectly Imperfect they each have great tutorials about using it and where to find it. You will probably have to order it through the internet. I found you through Kelli's blog, Restore and she also gives some great tips. A store has opened up in the city I live in that carries it so at least I don't have to pay shipping.
I'll keep checking to see how it's all going. If you can't find it let me know and I'll see if I can help you out.
Joyfully,
Elizabeth Ann
